Chevrolet Silverado

We saw the new version of the Chevrolet Silverado that will be part of the 2019 model year when the Detroit Auto Show took place. In a word, whoa.
This new truck is one that will easily offer us upgraded features, a lighter build, and more power for the drive to stay in line with the competition, but now this truck has another story to tell. The Silverado will be offered in one of the newest trim levels from Chevrolet to give us what we want to drive when we head out on the road.

Several other models offered by Chevrolet have been built to offer us what’s being called an RST model. The RST stands for Rally Sport Truck and it was first offered in the 2018 version of the Chevy Tahoe to give us more features and appearance qualities for an exciting drive. Spy shots have captured what appears to be a Silverado that looks like it could be the version of the RST trim for this truck that we may see when the 2019 model year arrives and this new truck makes its way to the roads that we have to drive every day.

What Can We Expect in the Chevrolet Silverado RST?

The spy shots that were captured for this new truck showed body-color bumpers, a body color grill insert, RST badging, and sporty-looking wheels. This may be a prototype of the truck we expect to see in the near future, and the production model might not be exactly the same, but this truck is certainly one that allows us to think about what it will be when it arrives on the scene. The hope is that we’ll get to see the Silverado RST at one of the shows before the model year begins.

The prototype truck that hit the road was also sporting a bed roll bar which is something sourced from the Chevrolet Performance Division. This gives us the idea we might see more of the performance items that are found in the Tahoe RST brought to the Silverado. These items would include Magnetic Ride Control, an optional Borla exhaust, Brembo front brakes, and a few other add-ons that can help us have the performance we want for the drive. These items would certainly give us a greatly improved version of this truck for the drive we need to make.
We should also expect the Chevy Silverado to be similar to the Tahoe in the engine bay. The Tahoe RST makes use of a 6.2-liter V8 engine under the hood, which is attached to a ten-speed automatic transmission for the drive. This powertrain can certainly offer us an incredible level of power and fun on the road and on the trails, we’ll want to drive the new Silverado RST. We look forward to sharing more specifics to let you know more about this truck as it arrives with the rest of the Silverado lineup later in the year.
