Toyota Tundra

It wasn’t long ago that Toyota released information about an expected facelift for its infamous Tundra pickup truck. As of a few months ago, everything we knew about this highly-anticipated redesign was almost pure speculation. Thanks to some leaks from a recent dealer meeting, rumors and guesses have been confirmed.

The bottom line: the new Toyota Tundra is going to be an instant classic.

How We Got Here

The Toyota Tundra has been a popular pickup since it first hit the road. In 2007, it went through a significant upgrade for its second generation that practically made pedestrians stop and applaud when it drove down the street.

As the years went by, the Tundra went through various upgrades but didn’t change its overall style like many of the other trucks in its class. The newest facelift is well worth the wait because it will change everything you thought about the Toyota Tundra.

Judge This Book By Its Cover

As with any proper facelift, the Toyota Tundra is going through some impressive changes to its appearance. The most noticeable outward change is a sportier look. It has a more aggressive stance, a bolder grille, and a host of incredible color options.

Those who get a glimpse of the Tundra’s interior will be just as impressed. You’ll see a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment center that features all of the tech you expect. Tech upgrades also include a host of driver-assist features like radar cruise control, lane centering/assist, automatic braking, and more.

What’s Inside Also Counts

While the term “facelift” tends to make people think of outward appearances, the Toyota Tundra’s update is more than just a change to how this truck looks. You’ll also enjoy some incredible enhancements in areas you don’t see as often.

Improved Powertrains

While lower trim levels of the new Tundra are expected to have powertrains similar to what you’ll find in Toyota’s Tacoma, there are some other great options coming our way. The base-level trim is expected to have a 3.5-liter V6 that offers around 278 horsepower but could produce up to 300 hp. Higher-trims could enjoy as high as 416 ponies.

Rumor has it that Toyota may be working on something bigger and more powerful or even a hybrid option. We’ll have to wait and see what’s available, but we know that Toyota will bring the heat.

New Global Architecture

The engineers at Toyota have been working on a brand new chassis called the Toyota New Global Architecture-F. Drivers will experience improved handling that rivals everything else on the road.

The TNGA-F chassis has quite a few highlights worth mentioning:
