The new Jeep Wagoneer is easily the most stylish and expensive Jeep SUV ever. However, the Wagoneer has more to offer than just luxury and a high price tag. Like all Jeep SUVs, this one is ready to roll with tough 4WD engineering. But the Wagoneer also offers class-leading towing power. Let’s take a closer look at this epic Jeep SUV.

Off-Road Capability

The Jeep Wagoneer offers three different 4WD systems. The first one is Quadra-Trac 1, which is an always-engaged 4WD system that includes the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System. The second is Quadra-Trac II, and it also has the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System but uses a two-speed low transfer case for even better traction. The Quadra-Drive II is an automatic 4WD system that excels over any terrain. The benefits of the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System are driver control over many different driving conditions. The system automatically adjusts engine power, torque distribution, and shift patterns depending on the terrain. Needless to say, this big SUV can go almost anywhere off-pavement.

Mild Hybrid V8 Power

The Wagoneer offers best-in-class towing power with a max capacity of 10,000 pounds. Adding to its towing ability is an available Quadra-Lift air suspension that gives you 3.6-inches of suspension travel and a total of 10 inches of ground clearance. It’s easy to attach your trailer with the rear backup camera and the optional trailer hitch zoom feature. Finally, integrated trailer brake control allows you to bring your trailer to a full stop using the Wagoneer’s own brakes.

The powerplant behind the Jeep Wagoneer’s capability is a 5.7-liter V8 engine with a mild-hybrid system that includes eTorque for 392 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque. The eTorque system allows for impressive low-end torque to get the Wagoneer off the line and help it navigate more easily off-road.

Jeep Wagoneer Trims

Three trims are offered for the Jeep Wagoneer. The base trim is the Wagoneer Series I model, starting at $58,995. The next trim is the Series II, starting at $69,640. The top trim is the Series III trim, starting at $74,640. All models can add 4WD, which will increase the price by about $3,000. All trims come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission. the heavy-Duty Trailer-Tow Package and Electronic Rear Limited-Slip Differential are only available on the top two trims. If you opt for 4WD on the top trim, you’ll get the two-speed on-demand transfer case standard. This transfer case is optional on the other trims when equipped with 4WD. Similarly, the Quadra-Lift Air Suspension is standard on the top trim with 4WD and optional on the middle trim. It is not available on the base trim. All Wagoneer models feature three rows of seats.

As you can see, the Jeep Wagoneer is a Jeep SUV unlike any other currently in production. It offers a lot of room and a lot of power, but ultra-modern luxury and tech features definitely put it at a hefty price point.
