Ready For the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV? It's Finally in Production

It’s been a long time coming. GMC’s been talking about the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV, and reservation holders have been waiting for this SUV to enter production. Well, the wait is over. The first Hummer EV SUV started down the production line at the end of January and should start going out to customers by the end of the quarter.

What is the GMC Hummer EV SUV?

GMC is known for its upscale trucks and SUVs such as the GMC Terrain and the Sierra pickup truck, but the Hummer EV SUV takes power, performance, and technology to new levels. It’s based on GM’s Ultium Platform with up to three motors available. Depending on the model it can generate up to 830 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of torque. What’s even more impressive is the zero to 60 mph time of three seconds, and the estimated 300 miles of range it can get on a full charge.

Off-Road Capability Meets New Trail Technology

When the GMC Hummer EV SUV hits the road, it will be capable of tackling more than just the average terrain. It will come with new technology to make adventuring off the beaten path even more fun. The redesigned myGMC app will have new features such as trail mapping that uses satellite to discover new off-road trails and help you monitor the Hummer’s energy consumption in real time, so you know when you need to make your way to a charging station.
It will also have a Power Station generator that will turn your Hummer EV into a backup generator when you are out on the trail. Imagine taking a break on the trail and having the power to run any tool or appliance you might need. If you need to, it could even charge up another electric vehicle.

Designed for Driving Enjoyment

Do you like the feeling of fresh air blowing on your face while you drive? Remove the roof panels and create the perfect driving experience in the Hummer EV SUV. If you keep them on, the transparent Sky Panels still let in plenty of light.
One of the impressive design elements of the Hummer EV is its maneuverability. It has a short wheelbase for such a large vehicle, but this gives it a turning radius of 35.4 feet. It’s so maneuverable; it’s almost as if you are behind the wheel of a compact SUV such as the GMC Terrain. Add the 4 Wheel Steer capability, and this massive SUV can go almost anywhere and do almost anything.

The Wait is Almost Over

The Edition 1 GMC Hummer EV SUV will be the first model to reach customers who were lucky enough to reserve one. Reservations are full through 2024, but with production underway, it means GMC will be able to work through some of the backlog and get drivers behind the wheel.
