Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The big news from GMC and Chevrolet has been the pair of new pickup trucks that are offered to give us the new power and build that we want for the drive on the road.
While the new models of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 are already on the market, you can still find an older version that’s still being built. GM chose to follow the same path as FCA and continue to offer the older model while the new ones make their way to dealerships to give us a variety of choices.

The K2 Continues for GM

The K2 platform is the outgoing platform for GM and will eventually disappear with the new trucks that are offered by GMC and Chevrolet. The Crew Cab models are going to continue until the early part of next year while the double cab and regular cab trucks will disappear later in the second half of 2019. This is great news for anyone looking for an affordable truck that’s familiar with the drive desired. For fleet managers, this could be the perfect time to build up the fleet and choose the models desired.

Expect Discounted Pricing

Even though the production lines will continue to run for the old K2 platform models of the GM truck pair, these models will likely offer you pricing that’s more affordable than the new models. With the double cab and regular cab models being offered for a longer time, any fleet manager could find excellent value in these trucks to add them to the fleet and have some basic trucks that offer some excellent features without going over the top for the drive. These value-oriented models would be great with the graphics from a company on the side of them when on the road. You’ll also find commercial models of both the Sierra and the Silverado for your construction-level needs, such as older flat beds and dump trucks, among others.

Not Just a Fleet Option

If you’re a fan of the older models of the Silverado or Sierra and you want to choose one of these trucks for the drive you make every day, you’ll have plenty to choose from. You can see the differences between the different platforms when you visit the dealership where you’re going to find the truck you want to buy and enjoy driving on a daily basis. Choose the brand you want to shop with and stop by the dealership to see which version of the truck you want to drive you’ll take home with you.
