One of our favorite SUVs on the market is the BMW X3. This vehicle has been built to offer us the benefit of excellent driving dynamics while adding more space inside for us to have a cabin that is easy to carry people or cargo in. This SUV has been updated for the 2018 model year to give us a lot to look forward to when the right choice is easy to drive SUV that has the performance dynamics that make it easy to have on the road while still being the right size for a family to make use of.
The first item you’ll notice that’s new for the BMW X3 is the three-dimensional kidney grill. This part of the vehicle is flanked by a new hexagonal set of fog lamps to give us an updated appearance. The X3 for this next model year is the first one that will come with a standard trailer hitch. This is not just a first for the X3, but for BMW SUVs to have a factory installed trailer hitch for the road. While you might not notice it when looking at the vehicle, this certainly makes the X3 one of the most capable luxury SUVs you can find on the market. You’ll also have the choice between 18-inch Y-Spoke and optional 19-inch V-Spoke wheels to give your X3 the look and feel you want to enjoy on the road.
On the inside of this SUV, you’re going to find standard tri-zone automatic climate controls, adjustable rear split folding seats, options for front and rear ventilation in the seats and a panoramic glass sunroof. The technology you’ll have up front will include the iDrive infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display, a large head-up display, an in-vehicle 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that can allow ten devices to be connected at the same time. This means your family can enjoy the connectivity inside the vehicle that they want to when you head out on the road for the driving you need to do.
Driving this new version of the X3 you’ll enjoy the improved chassis, the new xDrive AWD system and the controls of the M Sport brakes, Variable Sport Steering and Dynamic Damper Control which are all part of what you can choose for this vehicle. Under the hood, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine will still be in place but it’s been improved to give you 248 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. The M40i performance model will make use of the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that pumps up the power to 355 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque.
