Used Nissan

As the Nissan Group announces its sales figures from 2017, we see a group that was able to increase its sales over the all-time records that 2016 brought for the market.
This team increased sales for the year by 1.9 percent despite experiencing a slower December. The sales during the final months of the year resulted in a decrease of 9.5 percent compared to the previous December sales. This is an amazing feat for the team and certainly worth the celebration for both Nissan and Infiniti as the finished the year with a strong result.

You might think that the Nissan Group may have been one of those brands that didn’t see an increase in 2016 when the most vehicles were sold in history, but that’s not the case at all. The sales were a record setting 1,440,049 for the group in 2016 while the 2017 sales were able to reach the total of 1,593,464 to surpass this number and set a new all-time record for this brand group. This result shows that we trust the Nissan brand for the vehicles we want to drive on the road in a way that continues to show growth.

The Models that Led the Way

The Nissan model that we chose more than any other for 2017 was the Rogue crossover SUV. This vehicle was sold to 403,465 customers this past year, which results in an increase of 22 percent for the mode. The combined sales of the trucks, SUVs, and crossovers also set a new record with 765,624 models sold, which was a 15 percent increase from the previous year. The expansion of the Titan truck certainly contributed to this success in a brand that we’ve admired and driven for many years on the road around our country.

When you take a look at the cars, the Altima was the best seller, which should come as no surprise. This car showed up as the one being sold 254,996 times. While this is an impressive number, it does represent a decrease of 17 percent for the model compared to 2016. Overall, the Nissan car lineup experienced a decrease of 10.9 percent compared to the previous year. This is a shift that was expected and what many automakers are seeing in the US as more compact crossover SUVs are added to the market to give us smaller SUVs to enjoy on the road.
When it comes to the luxury models, Infiniti saw an increase in sales of 10.9 percent for the year to have total sales of 153,415 models compared to the 138,293 models sold in 2016. The Q50 sedan was the most popular with 40,739 units sold, with the QX60 showing up with 40,444 models sold. These two models, although the sales leaders, saw a decrease compared to the previous year of 7.4 percent and 4 percent respectively. The growth came from the Q60 with 10,751 models sold compared to 3,970 models the previous year which was an increase of 170.8 percent. The new QX30 saw an increase as well with 14,093 units sold compared to 2,259 for the previous year to be another model that improved the sales.
